Downeast Insurance, LLC was established in 2002 and is solely owned by Downeast Credit Union. Being part of the Downeast family is exciting for us at Downeast Insurance (DEI), as it affords us the opportunity to provide some of our products to the members of the credit union at reduced rates, and at the same time maintain our independent status in the insurance industry.
Our goal is simple: to serve you, our neighbors, exceptionally well. We represent some of the finest and most competitive insurance companies that Maine has to offer. We work hard to help our clients maintain proper coverage while keeping costs down. Our extremely knowledgeable, licensed agents are here for you. Whether it’s an auto, home, general liability or worker’s comp, they will find the right plan for you.
In 2009 DEI purchased Allied Insurance, in 2012 we purchased Freedom Insurance and in 2013 we purchased Cox Insurance. These acquisitions added more seasoned agents to serve you and we were able to expand our company portfolio, to have more carriers to select from.
Our agents are local, hard working people, just like you. They know that to be competitive in the ever-changing insurance industry they must exceed your every expectation and are all up to the task. Service is the cornerstone of every Downeast relationship. We look forward to meeting with you and to have the opportunity to earn your business.
