Last month, Downeast CU & Downeast Insurance collected 316 pounds of dinner ingredients to area food pantries! This is about 12 bankers boxes filled with taco kits, rice, pasta and other goodies which went to: Woodland Food Pantry, cash contribution to MECUL’s Ending Hunger Campaign, No Greater Love Food Pantry, Irene Chadbourne Food Pantry, Machias Food Pantry, Richmond Food Pantry, Friends Helping Community in Bowdoin, and the Unity Food Pantry.
Our Ending Hunger Committee hosts monthly Food Drives in each of the Downeast lobbies. All July, we are collecting movie snacks – stop by any branch to donate and help us End Hunger in Maine.
