This month’s edition of our Fraud Defense blog is focused on protecting your devices and security.
Though it may not seem like it, almost any action you take on the internet could make you vulnerable to online criminals. These criminals target victims through a variety of methods; email, text, spoofing, and more. This is why it is so important to take precautions while online.
You should be sure to create unique, strong passwords that you change regularly. It’s also important that you do not open attachments received from an unfamiliar email address. Use caution when using public Wi-Fi connections. If you do utilize one, be sure to avoid conducting any sensitive transactions while doing so. Be sure to do regular software updates to ensure you have the most up to date security.
Be sure to keep these things in mind when using the internet:
-Create unique, strong passwords that you change regularly, and avoid using the same password for multiple accounts.
-Do not open emails or attachments from unfamiliar addresses!
-Be wary of using public Wi-Fi connections, and avoid processing secure transactions if you do need to use one.
-Be sure to do regular software updates to ensure you have the most up to date security.
